Mama Ban has always been health-conscious and was happy to find that traditional Korean rice cakes were not only delicious but also gluten-free and vegan as well!
After becoming a new mom, Mama Ban struggled to find healthy snacks for her daughter that were actually tasty. At the same time, she was itching for a creative outlet, after leaving her job as a professional interior designer. In her search for inspiration, she stumbled upon the craft of piping rice cakes during a trip to South Korea and instantly fell in love with everything about it. She appreciated the simplicity of ingredients and transparency of what actually goes into a rice cake and Korean desserts. Creatively speaking, each rice cake (or dessert) served as a blank canvas for her to express her artful eye through piped artisanal flower designs. Mama Ban makes each Rice Blossoms rice cake and dessert with the same care and joy she uses when preparing them for her own daughters; and is on a mission to create a snack that is steamed with love and in her words, preciously delicious!
